What is the provider portal?
The provider portal is an organization's own space in Community OS for sharing events and resources with the community.
What is it?
The provider portal is the space where a service organization connects with the community. Each portal links an organization to the events it publishes and the resources it shares.
A portal records:
- The organization.
- The published events the provider wants people to see.
- The shared resources, such as documents or links.
- The permissions, which control what the provider can do in the system.
When do you use it?
You use the provider portal when a service organization works with your community. You use it to:
- Give a provider a clear place to share its events and resources.
- Control what each provider can access or change.
- Keep provider information together with the community.
- Show the community what services are available.
Example
A local counselling service joins the community. Aroha creates a provider portal for it and links the organization. The service adds its monthly workshops as published events and shares a leaflet about its opening hours. The permissions let the service update its own events but not change other records. The community can now find the service in the directory and its portal.
