Record statuses in the trust network
What each record status means, and who can change it.
This reference lists the record statuses in the trust network. A status tells you whether a record is in effect now. Use it to check why a record grants or denies access.
Overview
Three kinds of record carry a status: the delegation, the consent grant, and the support arrangement. Each status is shown as text, for example "Status: Active". The status is checked every time someone tries to open a record. A record that is not active grants no access, even if it exists.
Delegation statuses
A delegation gives a trustee authority over a scope of records. The beneficiary creates the delegation and can revoke it.

Consent statuses
A consent grant is the beneficiary's permission for someone or an app to access a collection of their records. Only the beneficiary decides consent.

| Active | The consent is in effect now. The grantee can access the collection at the level the beneficiary chose. | The beneficiary can revoke it, which changes it to Revoked. |
| Revoked | The beneficiary ended the consent. Access stops immediately, even while a delegation or arrangement stays active. | The beneficiary. |
Support arrangement statuses
A support arrangement assigns a support worker to a beneficiary for a set period. The coordinator creates and manages the arrangement.

Status is checked at every access
Access is decided at the moment of each request. The system reads the current status and the dates, and refuses access for any record that is revoked, expired, ended, or cancelled. There is no delay. Ending or revoking a record cuts off access immediately.
