Signing in to Community OS uses a magic link. A magic link is a sign-in link sent to your email address. You select the link, and Community OS opens with you signed in. There is no password to remember.
Purpose
This guide helps you sign in to Community OS. After following it, you will be signed in and can use the trust network.
Who this is for
This guide is for anyone with a Community OS identity. A beneficiary, a trustee, a support worker, a coordinator, or a family member.
What you need
- Your Community OS identity. Read the guide to create your identity first if you do not have one.
- The email address you used to create your identity.
- Access to that email inbox.
What you will do
- Ask for a sign-in link.
- Open the email.
- Select the link.
- Land in Community OS.
Instructions
- Open Community OS in your web browser.
- Select Sign in.
- Enter the email address you used to create your identity.
- Select Send sign-in link.
- Open the email from Community OS.
- Select the sign-in link in the email.
Community OS opens in a new tab with you signed in. The link works once. Each time you sign in, request a new link.
What happens next
- Community OS shows your home page. From there you can open the records you have access to.
- The links you receive are single-use. A used or expired link cannot sign you in again.
- You stay signed in until you sign out or your session ends.
Troubleshooting
- Problem: the email did not arrive. Fix: check your spam folder, wait a few minutes, then request a new link.
- Problem: the link has expired. Fix: request a new sign-in link and use it promptly. Links expire after a short time.
- Problem: the link opened but you were not signed in. Fix: select the link again, or request a new one. If it still fails, contact your administrator.
- Problem: you signed in with the wrong address. Fix: sign out and repeat the steps with the email address you used to create your identity.
