A support arrangement is the record that assigns a support worker to a beneficiary for a set period.

Definition
A support arrangement names the subject, who is the beneficiary receiving support. It names the worker, who is the support worker assigned. It names the coordinator, who created the arrangement. It names the organization, which is the organization providing the worker. It sets the role, such as "support-worker". It sets the start date and the end date. It has a status: active, ended, or cancelled.
The arrangement works together with the support plan. The arrangement says who supports whom and when. The support plan holds the goals, preferences, services, and appointments.
Access is never automatic. A worker with an active arrangement still cannot open the beneficiary's records until the beneficiary grants consent.
When you use it
A coordinator uses a support arrangement when a support worker starts supporting a beneficiary. The arrangement defines the period: it starts on the start date and ends on the end date. After the end date, the status becomes ended.
If the support stops early, the coordinator cancels the arrangement. Status: cancelled. If the worker needs to continue, the coordinator sets a new end date or creates a new arrangement.
Example
Aroha, the coordinator, sets up an arrangement for Wiremu. The arrangement names Wiremu as the subject, James as the worker, Aroha as the coordinator, and Provider A as the organization. The role is "support-worker". The arrangement runs from 1 August 2026 to 31 August 2026. Wiremu grants James consent to the support plan. For that month, James can open and update the plan. When the month ends, the arrangement is over. Status: ended.
